Final day in Berlin :(

Dave and I spent our last full day in Berlin exploring the city. We walked for about 4 hours straight! Although it was quite the work-out, we were able to see a lot of interesting monuments and buildings. Enjoy:))

This is the Triumphal Column (Siegessaule). It was built to commemorate victory in the Prusso-Danish War.

This is VERY hard to see. But basically, it was a bike with six people on it and they were sitting in a circle. Each had their own pedals...very confusing. haha

The Berlin Wall (a part of it which has survived through the years). It was constructed by the East German Government. Between 1961 and 1989, more than 180 people were shot trying to cross the wall.

Some graffiti on the wall...very upsetting really.

A hole in the wall.

It was originally 95 miles long.

The Monument to Soviet Soldiers. It commemorates the over 300,000 Soviet soldiers who died  in the battle for Berlin at the end off WWII.

There was a festival of some sort going on within Tiergarten! Complete with a big Ferris wheel.

They put the children in these huge plastic bubbles and threw them into a pool. I think the guy "operating" this heard my comment, "Wow...he can do all of that WHILE smoking a cigarette." Whoops ://

Humboldt University. Founded in 1810 (by General Custard...just kidding. hahaha).  Hegel and Einstein worked here, and Karl Marx graduated from here.

The Humboldt Box.

Berliner Dom (or Berlin Cathedral.)

Fernsehturm, or the Television Tower. It is called the Telespargel ( or toothpick) by the locals. It is the city's tallest structure at 1,197 feet. It has a revolving cafe in it.
Brandenburger Tor (Gate). It was here where the "celebration" of Hitler's rise power occurred!
