My flight arrived to Berlin around 11:00am this morning (5:00am U.S. time). I met Dave at the airport, since he was flying in from Vienna, Austria. (Today is his 25th birthday!!) Luckily, my luggage was not lost this time! We immediately got a taxi and headed to our apartment in the Potsdamer Platz area of Berlin, Germany.
Our apartment is in a really amazing location. We are in the middle of Sony Center in a high-rise apartment. When you look out our window, you are looking directly over a small gathering place full of little restaurants and a large fountain. Legoland is also right outside the apartment!
After locating the casino and dropping Dave off, I headed back to the apartment for a much needed nap! Once I was able to drag myself out of bed, I headed to the nearest supermarket to get some food for the apartment. Most importantly, I located the nearest McDonald's, Subway, and Dunkin Donuts. HAHA I knew Dave and I would be okay food-wise when I spotted a KFC as my plane was landing!
Tomorrow I plan to walk around the city and take many pictures! Dave doesn't have to be to the casino until 8pm so we plan on sleeping in (he hasn't slept in about 40 hours...) and then exploring the city a bit!
The view of the Sony Center "dome" from our apartment. So amazing looking! A little fun fact...the cost of the Sony Center amounted to about 600 million Euro! That's 780 million US dollars!
Looking down from our apartment window to the fountain.
The fountain and restaurants right below us!
The dome lights constantly change at night...Purple!
Blue lights, same color as the sky as the sun was going down.
So beautiful!
